Broken Harmony Survive as Scientist

Door frames, stamina, and the minigame that can spotlight you.

Scientist Survival Guide

Scientist is the default Broken Harmony role. You are staff in a facility that already lost containment. The Experiment is faster in a sprint, hits on a 2-second Punch, and can light your team with Leeking Heat. You win by wasting the hunter’s time, finishing Patient tunes, and not all dying before the clock. This guide is the survivor half. Role stats sit on the Scientist encyclopedia. Cosmetics sit on the Scientist skins tier list.

The video in the middle is a locker showcase that still demonstrates door jukes and camera peeks. Watch the movement, not the rare uniforms.

Stamina is the real health bar

Patch 1.3 slowed Scientist regen. Empty your bar in a long hallway and the hunter’s sprint (speed 19 after 1.2) catches you. Rules:

  • Walk between objectives.
  • Sprint through a door, then close it, then walk.
  • Never sprint in a straight line you already used.
  • Class S has less stamina (175) than a normal Scientist — if you bought the gun, you are not the designated runner. Read Class S.

Health on a standard Scientist is lower than Class S’s 110. You cannot tank Heat. Heat damage currently sits at 30 after going 25 → 40 → 30. Standing in it also highlights you and can gift the hunter a 5-second speed boost. Leave the puddle.

Doors

Closing a door in the Experiment’s face is the intended juke. It is also the mechanic that makes hunters type in chat. Use it:

  1. Break line of sight around a corner.
  2. Close the door while they commit to sprint.
  3. Leave. Do not wait to teabag the window.

Chain-closing the same door will get you punched when the cooldown on their swing is already 2 seconds. Mix in a camera peek. Last Standing loopers even mute music and listen for footsteps — details on the Last Standing page.

Tasks versus hiding

Hiding in a corner for the full timer only works if teammates finish Patients. Each successful tune cuts five seconds. Four tunes per Patient. If nobody is on tasks, the hunter has forever. Split: one or two on tasks, others drawing aggro with doors.

Failing a tune is worse than not starting. Fail ping = highlight + sound. If the hunter is close, walk off the GUI (it closes) and run. Do not “quickly finish.” The minigame guide is Patient tasks.

Information the hunter already has

  • Rage detection range and memory were buffed in 1.2 (memory 5 → 7). Playing like they forgot you is how you die.
  • Raging Eye is a 30-second cooldown scan. After it fires, you have a window.
  • Heat highlights nearby Scientists for two seconds in later patches. Assume the floor is a camera.
  • Last Standing highlights you for ten seconds at the start of 1:30. Play like they know the room.

Team habits in a 7-player server

Call the hunter’s skin. Default, Insatiable, and Monitored all play the same kit but different LMS tracks. Call Heat locations. Do not all stack one Patient — one fail highlights the pile.

If a teammate bought Class S, let them take shots. You take tasks. Class S cannot tune. Arguing over the GUI wastes the 40-second stun cooldown.

When you are last

You are not playing hide-and-seek anymore. You are playing a 90-second loop test. Mute, peek, do not greed a Patient unless the timer needs one more cut. Heat is the only damage source a perfect looper still eats. See Last Standing.

Shop while you are still learning

Stay on Default. Reminiscent at 400 Data is the first vanity that does not hurt. Do not dump 1000 into Mesmerizer until you can close a door without looking at your gloves. There are no codes to skip the grind. Scripts that auto-juke do not exist in a verified form and would get you banned.

Getting started for the lobby. Experiment guide so you understand the kit that is chasing you. Controls for sprint binds. Patch 1.5 for the current number set.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Scientist, Experiment, and Class S players.

Why does the Experiment always find me after a task?

Failed tunes highlight you. Walk off the GUI if the hunter is close. Full notes in Patient tasks.

Should I buy Class S to survive better?

Class S stuns but cannot do tasks and has less stamina. Read Class S before spending 950 Data.

Do doors actually work?

Yes. Closing one in the hunter’s face is a core juke. Mix it with walking stamina, not endless slams.
